Galveston Photographic Subject Files: Public Services

The collection - Galveston Photographic Subject Files regarding Public Services is an artificial collection gathered by staff of the Galveston and Texas History Center over the years. It consists of individual photographs, donated or found, and brought together under one subject heading. This collection consists of photographs of various Galveston Island municipal services and providers of gas, electric, water, and mail. The collection also contains photographs of police and firefighters, street and beach cleaners, prisons and jails, welfare providers, and public housing.
