The triangulation was executed by J.E. Hilgard, R.H. Fauntleroy, G. Davidson, J.S. Williams, Assistants, and C.H. Boyd, Sub-Assistant, at intervals between 1848 and 1867. The topography was executed by J.M. Wampler and C.H. Boyd, Sub-Assistants, in 1851 and 1867. The hydrography was executed by C.H. Boyd and F.S. Nes, Sub-Assistants, in 1867. Resurvey of the Inner Bar by Lieutenant E.M. Hughes, USN, Assistant, in 1883. Engraved by R.F. Bartle, J.G. Thompson, and W.A. Thompson. Contributions by L. Karcher and E. Fairfax.
