The mouth of the Mississippi is correctly positioned, with a delta, at the midpoint of the coast. New Orleans, not founded until 1718, is absent, but a number of French and Spanish settlements in the region (Pensacola, Mobile, Fort St. Pierre) and a host of Native American villages appear. The geography of the Texas coast is dominated by "St. Bernard or St. Louis Bay" (Matagorda) and is otherwise confused. A number of rivers appear, but they are not identifiable.
