The collection - Galveston Photographic Subject Files: Storm of 1900 - is an artificial collection gathered by staff of the Galveston and Texas History Center over the years. It consists of individual photographs, postcards, and artistic drawings, donated or found, and brought together under one subject heading. This collection about the Storm of 1900 contains photographs of damage incurred during the Storm of 1900 in Galveston, Texas, as well as images of memorials created later in the 20th century. Many commercial photographers took photographs of people and places around the island. There are some images from private persons. Images include residential buildings, religious properties, Galveston's downtown area and harbor, Galveston's infrastructure, parks, hospitals, survivors, and refugee camps and beachfront areas. Also included in this collection are photographs from events on Galveston Island commemorating the centennial of the 1900 Storm.

Please note that this is the "No Graphic Images" version of the collection, which does not contain photos that include dead bodies.
