The Galveston and Texas History Center

Tuesday - Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.


Located on the 4th floor of the Rosenberg Library.
 

The Galveston and Texas History Center includes manuscripts, photographs, books, maps, architectural drawings, and more focusing on Galveston from its 1839 incorporation to the present, and early Texas from the Spanish colonial period through the Civil War. The Genealogy collection contains family history research materials focusing on Texas, including books, collections, and access to major genealogical databases.

 

Walk-ins are welcome. If you would like us to pull archival materials prior to your visit, please call us at (409) 763-8854, x126. We also continue to assist with research questions virtually. Please contact us by phone or by email with questions.

 

As part of our mission to preserve and provide access to the historical record, our digital collections include materials that reflect the time and context in which they were created.
